Flagship project

Granja Tz’ikin

Tzununá, Lake Atitlán

This is our home, our farm, our restaurant, and our living laboratory. Every design method we teach was tested here first — on our own land, with our own money, in front of neighbours who’d notice if it failed.

A multi-level bamboo and timber structure, built largely from materials grown on site, wrapped in a productive food forest, with intensive grow tunnels, integrated water systems, and animal systems all feeding a working farm-to-table restaurant. It didn’t come from a plan on paper — it came from years of building, failing, and rebuilding on this hillside.

When we teach you to design regenerative land, this is the standard we teach from. Not theory. This.

What the work involved

Landscape Design
Planting, terracing and water worked out as one system, not three.
Architecture & Development
The building and its landscape designed together, as a single whole.
Construction & Implementation
Managing the build for you, or training your own team to do it.

The Granja Tz’ikin build seen from the vegetable garden, the mountain rising behind
Rain falling through the bamboo ramada at Granja Tz’ikin, a papaya heavy with fruit in the foreground
