Hands planting in the regenerative gardens at Granja Tz’ikin
Granja Tz’ikin · Tzununá

Help regenerate a farm. Help save a lake.

Granja Tz’ikin is a working organic farm in Tzununá, Guatemala. Volunteers live here, work the land with us, learn regenerative design by doing it, and become part of the plan to spread the model around the lake.

Why this farm exists

The lake needs working proof.

Lake Atitlán is one of the most beautiful lakes on earth. It is also under real pressure. We believe the lake needs working proof that regeneration pays for itself. So we built it. Granja Tz’ikin grows organic food, serves it in its own restaurant, hosts guests, and teaches regenerative design on the same ground. Everything we teach is done here first, documented, and turned into a blueprint another town can copy.

Volunteers make that possible. The hands that build the terraces are the same people who carry the story home.

Real projects, real land

What you'll do

Every task comes with the reasoning behind it. You leave able to read a slope, build living soil, and explain why the water goes where it goes.

Garden and nursery work

Planting, mulching, and composting to build living soil

Earthworks

Building terraces, paths, and water systems that feed the watershed

Harvest and kitchen support

Preparing food for the farm restaurant from crops you help grow

Documentation

Recording and sharing the projects and techniques for others to learn from

What a day looks like

A rhythm that works

Mornings are for work, in a crew, on the land. Afternoons are yours: the waterfalls above the village, the lake below it, a hammock, or your laptop. Evenings end at the farm restaurant, eating what the garden grew.

  • Work mornings on the land with the crew
  • Free afternoons to rest or explore
  • Shared meals at the farm restaurant
  • Working internet for remote work
  • Hot water and modern bathrooms
  • A sauna surrounded by gardens
